All life is precious, formed in the image of God. As a father and grandfather, Allen has the blessings of holding life in the palm of his hands which has helped guide his belief that life, born and pre-born, is worthy of protection. As your State Senator, he will have the courage to protect the rights of the unborn, while at the same time, prioritizing policies that help make raising children more affordable, encouraging and streamlining adoptive services and passing legislation that helps working families.

Public service should be a “service,” not a lifelong “career.” Thomas Jefferson warned of the “degeneracy of the public servants,” and that the voice of government should remain with the people. Allen recognizes the need for fresh perspectives and new voices leading in government which is why he supports term limits to encourage accountability, protect against the entrenchment of power and so that the government may be more responsive and reflective of the people’s wishes, not money and power.

Law-abiding citizens have a Constitutional right to defend themselves and their family. Allen is staunch defender of the Second Amendment and your right to keep and bear arms. As State Senator, he will commit to preserving your rights while ensuring that those who continually commit violent crimes are prosecuted heavily to keep our communities safe.

America is a Beacon of Hope and opportunity for those who do not have freedom. Allen welcomes legal immigration as a land of promise, but advocates for a secure border and a well-structured immigration system that keeps national security and the rule of law first. On Allen’s watch, South Carolina cannot and will not join the migration crisis that is bankrupting cities and states who have welcomed migrants without proper infrastructure and security vetting in place.

The South Carolina State Highway System is the fourth largest state-maintained system of state highways in the country and has continuously been ranked toward the top for worst road conditions. Allen recognizes the importance of reliable and efficient infrastructure so that commerce can continue moving bringing products and jobs to South Carolina, so that the working family can get from the car-line to the office lot in a reasonable time, but most importantly to keep our roads safe for travel, reducing the amount of accidents and injuries on our roadways. But also importantly, road projects ought to be based on priority…not on politics. Allen commits to doing all he can to ensure infrastructure improvements continue moving forward in the right direction in South Carolina on time, on merit, and on budget.

Catch and release of habitual violent criminal offenders has to end. That’s why Allen supports judicial reform efforts aimed to hold magistrates accountable and to ensure only the best and brightest are on the bench. Unfortunately, only a handful of powerful legislators have far too much control over how judges are picked. Allen will work hard to ensure that judges who are appointed are qualified, interpret the law as written, uphold the Constitution, and foster trust in defending the rule of law.

God bless our first responders! Allen is a strong advocate for the women and men who put their lives on the line each and every day to keep our communities safe. As State Senator, Allen will support policies and funding that support our law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and Coroner personnel, and all first responders so that they can carry out their duties.

Trust, Transparency, and Accountability are the cornerstones to effective democracy. Allen will look for any opportunities to increase government transparency, find efficiencies in state agencies, and will work to see that elected officials are accountable to the people they serve.

Bidenomics is making everything cost more these days. In times like these, fiscal responsibility of tax dollars is vitally important. With a background in finance, Allen is uniquely prepared to work on common-sense tax reform policies that help spur economic growth and job creation. He will work in the State Senate to ensure that tax dollars are spent wisely and effectively, not on legislators’ pet-projects.

A significant portion of South Carolina lives in rural land, including portions of District 27. Allen is a product of rural South Carolina and believes that rural communities play an important role to the state’s economy. Allen will be a strong voice for agribusiness, and will advance policies that help farmers and promote rural South Carolina.
